Stork's nest on the pilgrimage church "Maria zu den Ketten".
The pilgrimage church "Maria zu den Ketten" in Zell am Harmersbach is an important place of pilgrimage. A place of faith, understanding and reflection. It is the largest Marian pilgrimage church in Baden and its name is unique among all Marian pilgrimage sites. "Mary to the Chains" is located on a stretch of the Way of St. James. The church is cared for by the Capuchins, who have been working at the site for over a century. The Capuchins, with full name "Order of the Friars Minor Capuchins", belong to the Franciscan orders and form today - along with the Franciscans and the Conventuals - one of the three major branches of the so-called First Order of St. Francis of Assisi. The Capuchin Order has about 10,000 members worldwide and is one of the largest and most widespread religious orders in the Catholic Church. All information about the Capuchins is available at kapuziner.de.
