Majorca: Port de Pollensa
Puerto Pollensa is located in the north of Mallorca in the bay that separates Formentor Port of Alcudia. It was an important port for the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, and for the troops of the Crown of Aragon, who conquered the island in 1229, led by King James I. The Port of Pollensa offers sports facilities, hotels, restaurants and bars before a major maritime landscape. The English writer Agatha Christie lived in the early 20th century, the Hotel Illa d'Or to write her famous short story "Problem at Pollensa Bay and Other Stories", the protagonist of the detective Parker Pyne.
