Majorca: Inca

El Arenal

Inca is the third largest city in Mallorca and is located exactly in the middle between Palma and Pollensa. Although it is quite industrial and purely residential, the central location and especially the famous market and the well-known cellar pubs still attract any amount of tourists. After Palma, it is the best connected city on the island. Trains and other public transportation are well organized and go everywhere.
Inca's main attraction is the weekly market, which takes place on Thursdays. It is one of the largest on the island and stretches across various streets in the city center. Even though it is mainly known as a leather market, you can also explore many other types of stalls.
Even though the city of Inca is predominantly purely residential, it is an excellent place to shop. The markets and leather factories may not offer the great discounts that were once common, but you can still find many bargains. The surrounding area offers something for everyone. On the one hand the beauty of the island's interior, on the other hand the many picturesque villages in the immediate vicinity.
