Potes is a municipality of the autonomous community of Cantabria. It is located in the center of the area Liébana and is its capital city. In Potes rivers Deva and Quiviesa flow into each other. The city has a medieval FLAIT with houses made of stone and wood. The small town, apparently for the first time mentioned in the first century, was first associated with the Señores del Orejón de la Lama, then with the Marquis de Santanilla and the Dukes of Infantado. Potes was fought as a territory of the municipality. One of the most important building is the Tower of Infantado, where today the tourist office and showroom - formerly the town hall and it was formerly a prison.
