Santander is a Spanish port city, capital of Cantabria, located on the north coast of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the most populated municipality of the province, capital of the autonomous region and one of the most remarkable cities in northern Spain. Currently, a major academic and tourist enclave. Tourism extends primarily to the neighboring regions of Castilla-Leon, Asturias and the Basque Country.
